Carnivora Book

Barany Books Presents:

Carnivora: The Dark Art of Automobiles
edited by Leslie Barany. Available: Feb 2008

This book will be featuring my NEW "Smokin’ Fumes" piece, exclusively for the Carnivora book and exhibition. "Awesome job Les, can't wait to check this out!"

The Book:

"Carnivora" is a shadowy place where the dark communion of flesh and machine coalesca into the 20th century’s most influential creation – The Automobile. As an indispensable extension of ourselves, this metallic doppelganger can be as dark and destructive as the men and women whoe drive them. Carnivora: The Dark Art of Automobiles is a chilling joyride with some of the most noir artists from the last half of the 20th century.

Swiss Arm-Me

SWISS ARM–ME Exhibition, 2007

Mysterious sexy women, with their remarkable sensual eyes, and a cigarette in the corner of their mouths, became his trademark. These characters play their lustful roles, sprouted from the brain of the American artist Brian Viveros. His art is a unique mixture of different visual and artistic concepts, surrealism, comics and classic pinups, to name just a few.

The nice thing about his work is that these influences are not only adapted, but also recreated into a new personal style.

Thematically he explores the boundaries of fetish play, role playing and some quite heavy pain fantasies. Like the ones where the women are hooked, totured and bound, but somehow, even in these more morbid scenes, he is capable of maintaining a decent dose of humor.
